Democracy is to maintain unity in diversity, clarity in clamour and consensus in difference. It is an ideal that can only be inculcated maintaining years of patience, struggles, sacrifices and hardships on a massive scale cutting across the imaginary barriers of religion, caste, creed, ethnicity and gender. It is a way of life, a spirit that would manifest only after decades of himalayan efforts and demands thorough home work-- in the schools of diverse political thoughts by a teeming multitude-- spread over a continuum. Democracy is more of a responsibility than a privilege. It has to be earned, sweated out in streets and often making the puddles bloody and waters salty.
It can never be wished away nor summoned in!
